Chateau la
Chassagne was built in 1830 as a private residence and hunting lodge
in the Bourgogne region of France. During the past few years, this
property has been completely renovated and restored, transforming it
into a deluxe 4-star hotel with all the luxury amenities a
discriminating guest would expect.
The estate is
part of the village of Pont de Pany located approximately 15 km west
of Dijon and is situated just above the Burgundy canal at the entrance
to the Ouche valley. The estate is built in the classical Baroque
style with a visible period Rococo influence. The door and window
frames are of natural stone and are decorated with numerous carvings.
The property
consists of five buildings. The main building is three stories and
features 3 Halls, a Gallery, 2 Drawing Rooms, 17 Bedrooms, 10
Bathrooms, 2 Kitchens, 14 Fireplaces, an Elevator and various storage
rooms in the cellar. The outbuildings include an Apartment House
consisting of 4 bedrooms, 2 baths, a kitchen and a conservatory;
Stables/Garage; Barn/Wine Museum; and a Fitness Center.
The estate also
owns a private airfield located directly behind the Chateau, and the
land has an old and partly exotic tree population, considered to be
the only arboretum in France, according to the book, "French
Gardens". For the wine lover there's a vineyard with approximately
2,000 plants secluded within a natural stone enclosure.
Additional
features include 2 outdoor Swimming Pools, a Conference Center, a
Fitness Center, including a Sauna and Solarium, a Tennis Court, a Golf
Green and Driving Range, and a Wildlife Reserve where wild deer roam
freely. |
