This estate is
located 12 kilometers northeast of the town of Siena, close to Castello di Brolio. It was a member of the original Lega del
Chianti.
In 1994, the property
experienced a resurrection. The old hamlet of the castle was
carefully restored, respecting the historical and architectural
character of Tuscany. Today, the property is considered
one of the architectural jewels of the region.
In 1997 the estate began to produce
small quantities of its own wines. After completion of a new,
modern wine cellar in 2001, the property began to use most of its
grapes for its own wine production. To assist in the creation of
top Chianti wines, the estate retained the services of a
highly respected enologist.
In 2001 an exclusive restaurant owned by
the castle successfully opened.
Located in the hamlet and featuring al fresco dining on a terrace with
an exceptional view of the surrounding vineyards, olive groves and
ancient castles, as well as indoor dining with air conditioned rooms,
the restaurant offers local dishes on a high level.
The property comprises of 130
acres of land, of which 38 acres are dedicated to the production of
grapes. In addition to wine, the traditional Vin Santo, Grappa,
and, of course, extra virgin olive oil are produced.
The castle buildings comprise of
approximately 1,279 square meters of living and service areas,
including a guest wing with 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, a kitchen, dining and
living rooms, and another 300 square meters located in the Borgo.
The castle itself includes various function and living rooms, as well
as a large kitchen, dining hall and 4 bedrooms with 5 bathrooms.
The castle also features a beautiful,
private courtyard and an expansive garden for exclusive use by the
owners. It is ideally suited for functions such as open-air
receptions and concerts.
